Canada has especially been supportive of South Asian storytellers and our panel of experts will break down challenges, recent gains and how to keep building on this exciting momentum. Join industry mavens Gitesh Pandya and Rohi Mirza Pandya from Box Office Guru Media as they expertly navigate the evolving realms of filmmaking with the multi-talented Doin’ It star/producer/writer Lilly Singh and producer Anita Verma Lallian with an Introduction from bestselling author and 10x SXSW Featured speaker Rohit Bhargava.

    Lilly Singh is an Emmy-winning entertainer, actress, producer,New York Times best-selling author, gender equality advocate, and President of Unicorn Island. A leading force in pop culture, she has pivoted her successful online career to the big and small screens.  Up next, Lilly’s first feature film, DOIN’ IT, will premiere at the 2024 SXSW Film & TV Festival. She co-wrote, produced, and stars as the lead in the comedy. During the Festival, Lilly will also receive the “Comedy Crossover” Award at Variety’s Power of Comedy honors.   She is also partnering with AAVRANI, an Ayurvedic science-backed beauty brand, to launch the hair care collection (on March 12) she helped create alongside founder Rooshy Roy, inspired by Indian cultural rituals.  Most recently, Lilly starred in the Emmy-winning Disney+ comedy series The Muppets Mayhem, DreamWorks Animation action-comedy THE BAD GUYS, and voiced the lead in her animated series, The Mindful Adventures of Unicorn Island, now available on YouTube.
